Driving to Byron Bay

Brisbane is basically the closest urban area nearby and it will take you about two hours to drive to Byron Bay from there. If you are setting off from other cities, for example, Sydney, get ready for a long ride. It takes approximately 9 hours to drive from Sydney to Byron Bay.

Enjoy the food

The first thing to do after arriving the Byron Bay is to enjoy breakfast in a cafe. Choices are abundant. The most recommended choices are cold-pressed juices combined with gelato. In the outer area of the town, there is the Three Blue Ducks on a farm. Another popular choice is Fleet with wine bars and limited seats.

Enjoy the view

The view of nature in Byron Bay is charming and definitely worth checking out. First to explore is the Cape Byron track. It's magnificent especially when the dawn hits. The rainforest is also a great spot to check out. The windswept cliffs would give you great views of the ocean and hinterland. From June to November you might be able to see humpback whales.

Make good use of the beach

The beaches are the main attraction of Byron Bay. The beautiful beaches and crystal clear water make for great surfing and paddle boarding spots. It's suitable for all kinds of water sports like surfing, paddle boarding, and kayaking. If you are not a skilled surfer, get a stand up paddle board and try it first. It's easier for beginners.
